DC preview's "The Gotham War"
DC has unveiled a sneak peek into its upcoming series, "The Gotham War." This city-spanning conflict promises to split the Bat-Family right down the middle. The series will feature connecting covers for "Batman #137" and "Catwoman #57" by Joe Quesada, with the artistry of Kevin Nowlan and Richard Isanove.
The storyline, set to commence on August 29th with "BATMAN/CATWOMAN: THE GOTHAM WAR—BATTLE LINES #1," revolves around a peculiar situation in Gotham City where crime rates have plummeted. However, this reduction in crime comes with its own set of challenges. As Batman recuperates from his adventures through the Multiverse and the terrors of Knight Terrors, Catwoman's name dominates his thoughts, hinting at her central role in this new Gotham era.
The narrative, which has been in the making for over a year, will see the Bat-Family torn apart as the war takes over the streets of Gotham. The creative team behind this saga includes renowned writers Chip Zdarsky and Tini Howard, accompanied by artists Mike Hawthorne and Adriano Di Benedetto.
The series will continue with "BATMAN #137" releasing on September 5th, showcasing a more aggressive Batman determined to save Gotham, even if it means turning friends into adversaries. The subsequent chapter, "CATWOMAN #57," scheduled for September 19th, will focus on Selina's (Catwoman) perspective, highlighting her alliances and the evolving dynamics between her and Bruce Wayne.
Fans of the Bat-Family are in for a treat as this series promises intense action, intricate plot twists, and a deep dive into the psyche of beloved characters.
