Spider-Gwen Rocks On in New "Spider-Gwen: Smash" Series
Marvel Comics is set to launch a brand-new limited series this December, focusing on the beloved character from Earth-65, Gwen Stacy, also known as Spider-Gwen or Ghost-Spider. Titled "Spider-Gwen: Smash," the series promises to weave a tale of music, mystery, and mayhem.
Synopsis: In "Spider-Gwen: Smash," Gwen Stacy returns to her native dimension for a music tour that promises more action than she bargained for. As the drummer for The Mary Janes, Gwen embarks on a four-city tour as the opening act for one of Earth-65's most renowned rock bands. While Gwen is determined to keep her superhero antics separate from her musical endeavors, a mysterious assassin targeting the headlining band forces her to reconsider. As Gwen grapples with the challenges of the tour, she'll encounter new versions of familiar heroes, face off against deadly foes, and navigate the complexities of relationships within the close quarters of a tour bus.
Creative Team: The series is penned by Melissa Flores, known for her work on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and "WOMEN OF MARVEL." Enid Balám, who previously illustrated "KATE BISHOP: HAWKEYE," will bring the story to life with her art. Flores expressed her excitement about the project, stating, "Getting to explore Gwen Stacy's musical side as she goes on tour with the Mary Janes in her home dimension is an utter delight."
Cover Art: The main cover for the debut issue is crafted by David Nakayama, with variant covers by Elizabeth Torque and a special foil variant by Peach Momoko.
