Mystical Battles Await: DC's New Deck-Building Game Spotlighting Justice League Dark
In a thrilling announcement, Cryptozoic Entertainment, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC, has unveiled the Kickstarter campaign for their latest tabletop venture: the DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark.
Following the resounding success of the DC Deck-Building Game 10th Anniversary Kickstarter, which amassed over $1 million, this new campaign introduces fans to a base set inspired by DC’s Justice League Dark comic series. This supernatural DC team, featuring characters like Wonder Woman, John Constantine, Zatanna, and Doctor Fate, takes center stage when mystical challenges prove too daunting for mainstream DC Super Heroes.
Additionally, the campaign offers the DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals – Shazam! vs. Black Adam, a two-player game that thrusts participants into the age-old magical feud between the titular characters. Each player is equipped with three unique Character cards, escalating in power and cost, making it a strategic challenge to overcome their adversary threefold.
The Kickstarter doesn't stop there. It also presents five diverse expansions for the DC Deck-Building Game, including the Legion of Doom Expansion Pack and the Rebirth: One-Shot Pack 1 — Cry for Justice, among others. Exclusive playmats and card sleeves are also up for grabs.
Shahriar Fouladi, Vice President of Product Development & Marketing at Cryptozoic, expressed his excitement about the new game mechanics inspired by magic and the supernatural. He also highlighted the company's commitment to incorporating fan feedback to enhance the overall gaming experience.
The Kickstarter campaign is set to run until July 27, with pledge tiers commencing at $75. Those who back the project can anticipate their items by April 2024, while the retail versions of the DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark and Rivals – Shazam! vs. Black Adam are slated for a subsequent release.
For enthusiasts eager to dive into this mystical realm, more details can be found on the DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark Kickstarter page.
