Dark Horse Comics is set to unveil a gripping new horror comic series, "Mortal Terror," which offers a fresh take on the classic Dracula narrative. The creative minds behind the illustrated prose horror novella "Festival" - Christopher Golden, Tim Lebbon, and Peter Bergting - have teamed up once again to bring this chilling tale to life.

A World Where Vampires Fear Mortals: "Mortal Terror" introduces readers to a world where the roles of vampires and mortals are reversed. Vampires, including Jonathan Harker, Lucy Westenra, and Mina Murray, reside in an underground London, striving to protect their undead city from the rumored mortals above. These mortals are believed to possess the power to grant life to the undead, only to subsequently destroy them. As the vampire community grapples with the threat of mortals and the enigmatic Count Dracula, they find themselves isolated, with the authorities dismissing the existence of mortals and Dracula as mere myths.

Release Details and Praise: The first issue of "Mortal Terror," out of a four-part series, is set to be released on November 22, 2023. Priced at $4.99, it is currently available for pre-order from local comic shops. The issue will also feature a variant cover by the renowned Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy.

The works of the creative team behind "Mortal Terror" have previously received acclaim. Christopher Golden's "All Hallows" was lauded for its captivating horror elements and its homage to Halloween. Tim Lebbon's "Eden" was praised for its hauntingly beautiful portrayal of nature's wrath. Peter Bergting's illustrations have been celebrated for their storytelling prowess, with Mike Mignola commending him for his dual talents in illustration and comic creation.

With "Mortal Terror," Dark Horse Comics promises a narrative that is both haunting and thought-provoking, ensuring that fans of horror and the Dracula lore are in for a treat.
